How many lasers and LEDs are in the Laser Pro Mask?Updated 2 hours ago

If you've tried counting the dots on the mask or on our product diagrams, you won't get to 164 lasers, and that's expected. Here's why.

Why you can't count the lasers on the mask

The dots you see are the light openings on the mask surface, not the diodes themselves. Each opening has three to four diodes mounted behind it on the internal board, so the number of openings on the shell or diagram will always be lower than the number of emitters. Our diagrams show where light exits the mask, not how many diodes sit behind each opening.

What's inside

  • 164 VCSEL lasers across three wavelengths: 665 nm, 850 nm, and 1064 nm
  • 72 LEDs that carry the 460 nm blue plus red and near-infrared light, filling in coverage between the lasers so the whole face is treated evenly
  • 236 emitters in total

Why it's built this way

Because several diodes sit behind each opening, every point on your face receives more than one wavelength through the same spot, not one wavelength in one place and another a centimeter away. Each wavelength reaches a different depth:

  • 665 nm works at the surface, the epidermis and upper dermis, where tone, texture, and fine lines show up.
  • 850 nm reaches the mid dermis, where collagen and elastin are produced.
  • 1064 nm reaches the deepest layer the device targets, the lower dermis.
  • 460 nm blue stays at the surface, where acne bacteria live.

That's what we mean by treating the full skin matrix. A device that reaches one depth gives you one result. Stacking the wavelengths at each opening means every area of the face is treated from the surface to the deep dermis in a single 10-minute session, so fine lines, firmness, and clarity are worked on together rather than one at a time.

Why lasers do the main work

A VCSEL laser puts out one exact wavelength in a tight 18-degree beam, so the energy is concentrated and lands at the depth that wavelength was studied at. An LED spreads its light across roughly 120 degrees and a wider band of wavelengths. The lasers are what reach depth; the LEDs make sure no part of the face is missed.

How each session uses them

Every session delivers 30 J/cm² at 50 mW/cm². Because the shell is flexible, every emitter stays in contact with the skin across the whole face rather than hovering over it.
